Andre Cronje Details Role in Sonic Labs: Clear Boundaries Between Technical and Business Functions
Andre Cronje recently issued a statement clarifying his specific responsibilities within the Fantom and Sonic ecosystems following his departure from the Sonic Labs board. He emphasized that his involvement was strictly limited to technical architecture and did not extend to commercial operations or token-related decisions.
Technical Advisor Role: No Involvement in Core Business Decisions
In his statement, AC clarified that he is not a founder of any company or original token project related to Fantom or Sonic, and initially participated solely as a technical consultant. He explicitly stated:
- Did not participate in designing or executing the FTM to S token migration
- Did not design or manage the Sonic airdrop mechanism
- Is not responsible for decisions regarding the token economic model launch
These clarifications address recent misunderstandings within the community regarding the scope of his responsibilities, drawing a clear line between technical roles and business decision-making.
Clear Plans for Future Development
AC further stated in his declaration that he will no longer be involved in any business decisions for Sonic Labs, and will focus entirely on developing the Flying Tulip project. He also reiterated his support for existing ecosystem components:
"I do not support shutting down the Ethereum ERC-20 version of FTM or stopping the Opera network. These decisions fall entirely within the realm of commercial operations, which is outside my technical responsibilities."
This statement clearly delineates the boundary between his technical architecture role and business operations, providing the community with a precise understanding of his position.
