Alibaba Cloud Overhauls AI Outbound Call Service Packages

Alibaba Cloud has issued a significant update regarding the specifications and pricing of its AI Outbound Call Agent. The changes, which substantially raise the entry barrier for the service, suggest a strategic shift towards catering more to medium and large-scale enterprise clients.

Key Changes to Service Specifications

The new policy is scheduled to take effect on July 30, 2026. The primary modifications are as follows:

  • Unified Minimum Package: The starting package for both new purchases and renewals will be standardized at 100,000 minutes.
  • Discontinuation of Entry-Level Plans: The previously available 5,000-minute and 10,000-minute package options will be phased out and removed from sale.
  • Updated Renewal Policy: Existing 5,000/10,000-minute packages will not be eligible for renewal upon expiration.

Implications for Current Customers

Alibaba Cloud has outlined clear terms for users currently subscribed to the affected plans. Customers who purchased the 5,000 or 10,000-minute packages before July 30, 2026, can continue to use their services without interruption until the end of their current billing cycle. This provides existing users with ample time to evaluate their options.

This restructuring marks a notable change in the product's market positioning. By eliminating low-usage packages, Alibaba Cloud appears to be focusing its resources on serving businesses with consistent, high-volume outbound call requirements, steering its customer base towards higher-tier service commitments.
