In a landmark move, AI firm Anthropic has committed to a six-year, $45 billion agreement to lease approximately 460 megawatts of AI-dedicated computing capacity from Nscale's Monarch data center facility in West Virginia.

Next-Gen Hardware at Scale

Sources indicate that Nscale intends to power this capacity with Nvidia's forthcoming Vera Rubin AI accelerators, with the first tranche of compute expected to come online by the end of next year. This deal is part of the broader Monarch campus, a mega-project with a total estimated investment of $71 billion.
