Major Breakthrough in Argentine Crypto Fraud Case

In a significant development, Venezuelan authorities have arrested Rosa María González, a key suspect in a major cryptocurrency fraud case linked to Argentina. The scam is estimated to have defrauded investors of over $120 million.

Flight and Capture

Reports suggest that following the collapse of the Generación Zoe scheme, González allegedly fled with 611 Bitcoin, worth around $56 million at the time. After an extensive manhunt, she was finally captured in San Cristóbal, Venezuela.

Unveiling the Ponzi Scheme

Investigators uncovered that Generación Zoe lured investors with promises of up to 7.5% returns, while operating as a classic Ponzi scheme. González reportedly claimed to have developed a 'quantum-secure' trading algorithm generating up to 70% monthly profits.

New Alleged Scam Emerges

During her time on the run, González is suspected of organizing a fresh investment fraud scheme, promising returns of 5% monthly with a minimum investment of $1,000. These actions have further worsened her legal situation.

Challenges in Extradition

With strained diplomatic relations between Argentina and Venezuela, the extradition process is expected to face significant obstacles. The outcome will depend on future negotiations between the two nations.
