AI-generated Impersonation Uncovered
Recently, Binance founder CZ discovered on social media X that a user had created AI-generated photos of himself, attempting to impersonate one of his close supporters. This incident has raised concerns about the rise of AI-based scams.
How the Fake Photos Were Detected
CZ pointed out several inconsistencies in the images, such as his never wearing blue or purple clothes and visible differences in the resolution of the individuals pictured. These clues revealed the artificial nature of the photos.
Original Photo Identity Revealed
After verification, it was confirmed that the original images were real photos of CZ with Aster CEO Leonard. The fraudster used AI to manipulate the images, creating the illusion of a different personal interaction.
Community Alert Against Scams
CZ urged all community members to stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to AI-driven fraud. Additionally, the Binance team expressed openness to genuine, constructive feedback to maintain a healthy ecosystem.
