The End of Crypto Jargon: Simplifying Digital Asset Transfers
At the Money20/20 USA conference in Las Vegas, a new product emerged with the potential to fundamentally alter how everyday users interact with digital assets. ZeroHash, an on-chain infrastructure provider, unveiled AUTH—a solution targeting one of the industry's most persistent friction points.
From Addresses to Accounts: A Fundamental Shift
Moving crypto assets has traditionally required users to correctly copy and paste long, cryptic wallet addresses and select the precise blockchain network. A single mistake could mean irreversible loss. AUTH reimagines this entire process.
Instead of interacting with raw addresses, users connect verified financial accounts they already know and trust—be it hosted platforms or self-custody wallets. The transfer becomes a direct operation between authenticated endpoints.
How It Works: The User Journey
The AUTH flow is designed for simplicity:
- Select Accounts: Choose sending and receiving accounts from supported platforms.
- Secure Authentication: Authorize using the account's existing credentials and multi-factor verification.
- Asset Movement: Assets transfer on-chain nearly instantly.
This model reduces steps and, more importantly, removes the anxiety of dealing with unfamiliar technical terms. The blockchain operation happens in the background, while the user experiences a seamless account-to-account action.
Scale and Flexibility
AUTH launches with significant reach:
- Broad Connectivity: Over 600 account connections, spanning hosted and self-custody types.
- Global Footprint: Available across 190+ countries to an estimated 250 million users.
- Platform Partners: Integrations include Robinhood, Gemini, Coinbase, MetaMask, and Phantom.
The product emphasizes both usability and control. Partner platforms can configure supported account types, transferable assets, and specific rules, balancing convenience with necessary compliance and risk management.
Leadership and Integration Paths
ZeroHash has appointed Ryan Beaudry as General Manager for AUTH. Beaudry previously served as Executive Vice President of Global Open Banking Products & Operations at Mastercard, signaling a focus on bridging traditional finance and crypto.
For integration, AUTH offers flexibility: it can be used as a standalone product or activated via ZeroHash's existing SDK. Platforms already using other ZeroHash infrastructure can add AUTH functionality seamlessly.
The introduction of AUTH reflects a broader industry shift: crypto infrastructure is evolving to serve mainstream user needs rather than just tech enthusiasts. When asset transfers no longer require understanding addresses, networks, and gas fees, blockchain technology can take a major step toward true mass adoption.
