Binance to Temporarily Halt POL Services for Network Upgrade: What You Need to Know

In preparation for a significant network upgrade and hard fork on the Polygon (POL) blockchain, Binance has announced its support and outlined corresponding service adjustments. This proactive measure is aimed at ensuring a secure transition and safeguarding user assets throughout the technical process.

Schedule for Service Suspension and Resumption

Binance will temporarily suspend deposit and withdrawal services for all tokens on the Polygon network starting from 21:00 Beijing Time on July 29, 2026. Users will be unable to move POL-based assets to or from their Binance accounts during this period.

The Polygon network upgrade itself is scheduled to be triggered at block height 50,185,000, which is estimated to occur around 22:00 Beijing Time on the same day. The hard fork and upgrade will be executed on the mainnet at this point.

  • Key Timeline 1 (Binance): July 29, 21:00 Beijing Time - POL deposits/withdrawals suspended.
  • Key Timeline 2 (Polygon Network): July 29, ~22:00 Beijing Time - Mainnet upgrade initiates at target block height.

Important Notes for Users

It's crucial to understand that the suspension applies only to deposit and withdrawal functions on the Polygon network. Trading services for POL spot and margin pairs on Binance are expected to continue operating normally.

Regarding the resumption of services, Binance has stated that deposits and withdrawals will be reopened only after the Polygon network upgrade is fully completed and its stability has been verified. An official announcement will follow to notify users of the exact resumption time.

Users holding POL or related assets are advised to plan any necessary transfers ahead of time to avoid potential disruption during the maintenance window.
