Binance Revamps Capital Connect Rules with New Standards Effective July 2026
Binance has announced a significant update to the governance framework of its Capital Connect platform. The new standards, set to take effect on July 27, 2026, are designed to refine the platform's ecosystem and enhance service quality. The changes primarily focus on the entry and exit mechanisms for trading teams and the management of investor access privileges.
Clearer Delisting Criteria for Trading Teams
The updated rules establish more transparent and stringent activity and performance benchmarks for trading teams listed on the platform. Delisting can be triggered under two main circumstances:
- Activity Requirement: Any trading team that remains inactive—executing no trades—for 30 consecutive days will be subject to removal.
- Performance Threshold: Sustained strategy performance becomes a key metric. Specifically, a "poor strategy performance" is defined as a cumulative return below -10% for non-directional strategies, or below -30% for directional strategies.
If either condition is met, the affected trading team will be delisted from Capital Connect. The platform clarifies that delisting does not impact investors' existing capital allocations, which will continue to be managed by the original team. Delisted teams can reapply for listing after a 90-day cooling-off period.
Investor Access Tied to Engagement
The new standards also introduce clear participation requirements for investors. To ensure platform resources are allocated to engaged users, investor access will be directly linked to their activity level.
The rule states that if an investor does not submit a new subscription application to any trading team on the platform for a continuous period of 12 months, their access to Capital Connect will be revoked. This means they will lose the ability to view new strategies or initiate new investments.
Similar to the process for trading teams, investors have a path to restore their access. After a 180-day period following the revocation, users can reapply for access, subject to platform approval.
This rule update appears to be Binance's move towards fostering a more dynamic and efficient capital-connect ecosystem. By implementing automated delisting and access management, the platform aims to incentivize sustained engagement from all participants, encouraging the continuous provision and pursuit of valuable investment opportunities, ultimately aiming to improve the overall user experience.
