The argument suggests that Bitcoin mining's electricity consumption may have reached its all-time peak, with December 2025 potentially marking a turning point. Even with future fluctuations, the fundamental economics of mining and Bitcoin's halving mechanism indicate that the era of relentless energy growth is unsustainable.

This presents a new opportunity cost challenge for Bitcoin miners.
