Panama Ruling Triggers Legal Action

CK Hutchison recently announced that its subsidiary, Panama Ports Company (PPC), has received independent legal advice indicating that Panama's Supreme Court ruling and government actions violate the existing legal framework and concession agreements.

Initiating International Arbitration

In accordance with applicable concession agreements and ICC arbitration rules, PPC has formally initiated arbitration proceedings against the Republic of Panama on February 3, 2026, demonstrating the company’s determination to protect its legal rights.

Commitment to Legal Defense

The board strongly opposes Panama’s ruling and related actions, and will continue consulting legal advisors, reserving all rights to pursue further legal remedies, including domestic and international proceedings.
