Cobo Wallet App Sets Final Shutdown Date, Urging User Action

Cobo has officially announced that its Wallet mobile application service will be permanently discontinued on December 1, 2026 (UTC+8). This move is part of the company's broader business strategy realignment. It's important to note that other Cobo business lines will continue to operate as usual, unaffected by this specific app closure.

Critical Deadlines and Withdrawal Mandate

Users are required to fully withdraw all digital assets from their Cobo Wallet App accounts by 23:59 on November 30, 2026 (UTC+8). This is the final cutoff to avoid incurring post-shutdown fees.

Persistent Fees for Dormant Assets

If any assets remain in a user's account after the service termination, Cobo will implement a monthly management fee structure:

  • Fee Rate: A 2% monthly charge based on the total value of remaining assets.
  • Deduction Method: Fees are deducted directly in the original cryptocurrency.
  • Minimum Charge: A monthly floor equivalent to $100 USD.
  • Low-Balance Accounts: If the total asset value is below $100, the entire remaining balance will be deducted in one lump sum.

The first management fee charge is scheduled for January 1, 2027. Users who fail to withdraw their assets by the shutdown date will face this initial charge shortly thereafter.

Immediate Steps for Users

Cobo's announcement strongly advises users to not only transfer their assets but also to review and update any receiving addresses linked to their Cobo Wallet that are currently set on third-party platforms. This includes cryptocurrency exchanges, mining pools, and other services. Users should replace these addresses with an active, alternative wallet address to ensure uninterrupted receipt of future transactions and prevent potential loss of funds.

With a lead time of over two years, users have a substantial window to prepare. It is recommended to plan accordingly, secure assets, and monitor official channels for any further instructions.
