Proactive Security Measure Implemented by Curve Finance

In a move prioritizing ecosystem safety, Curve Finance has announced a temporary suspension of its LayerZero integration. This decision comes as a direct response to a recent security incident, allowing the development team to conduct a thorough investigation into the underlying causes before resuming service.

Scope of the Temporary Service Halt

The suspension will temporarily affect specific cross-chain functionalities within the protocol. The impacted services are as follows:

  • CRV Token Bridging: Bridging for the CRV token from the BNB Chain, Sonic, Avalanche, Fantom, Etherlink, and Kava networks via the affected infrastructure is paused. Native bridging on other chains remains fully operational.
  • crvUSD Stablecoin Bridging: The fast bridging option for crvUSD is temporarily unavailable. It is important to note that the standard (slower) bridging routes for Layer 2 networks continue to function without interruption for users.

The protocol's team has stated that this is a precautionary action aimed at safeguarding user funds. In the evolving landscape of decentralized finance, isolating potential vulnerabilities is a critical component of maintaining long-term system integrity. Further updates regarding the timeline for service restoration will be provided upon completion of the ongoing technical review.
