Goodwill Compensation Distributed, Final Call for Claims
The decentralized derivatives exchange EdgeX has confirmed the successful rollout of its goodwill compensation package for traders impacted by an isolated market event earlier this month. This initiative reflects the platform's commitment to user support during exceptional circumstances.
Compensation Package Details
The compensation program targets a specific group of users who experienced realized losses. Eligibility is limited to those who held long positions on EDGE perpetual contracts (both V1 and V2) between 4:50 and 6:00 UTC on June 2nd, and whose positions were liquidated or hit stop-loss orders during that volatile window.
The compensation is capped at an equivalent value of 100,000 USDC per user and is structured in two distinct parts:
- Immediate Payout (50%): Distributed in USDC stablecoin. This portion has already been credited and is available for claim through the official portal.
- Future Token Allocation (50%): The remaining half will be awarded in the platform's native EDGE token. Sourced from a dedicated ecosystem and community pool, this distribution is scheduled for the first week of April 2027. The exact number of tokens will be calculated based on a 7-day Time-Weighted Average Price (TWAP) following the commencement of the vesting period on March 31, 2027.
Act Before the Deadline
Time is of the essence for eligible users. The claim process requires submitting a verified ticket through the official Discord support channel and completing a final registration step. The absolute deadline for completing this process is June 9th at 14:00 UTC. The platform will not accept any claims submitted after this cut-off time, and failure to register will result in forfeiture of compensation rights.
This proactive compensation effort sets a notable precedent for user protection and platform accountability within the decentralized finance landscape.
