Background and Action Plan
In response to security challenges in the Red Sea region, the EU has decided to strengthen its naval forces. On March 1, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kallas announced the deployment of additional vessels to Operation Aspides to enhance maritime security.
