A New Era of On-Premise AI Security Emerges

The cybersecurity landscape is shifting once again. Nir Zuk, the visionary behind Palo Alto Networks, has launched Cylake — a next-generation, AI-native security platform designed to redefine enterprise defense. The company has secured $45 million in seed funding, led by renowned venture firm Greylock Partners, signaling strong market confidence in its innovative approach.

Elite Team with Proven Security Expertise

Cylake’s founding team brings together some of the industry’s most respected figures. Wilson Xu, formerly engineering lead at Palo Alto Networks, joins as co-founder, bringing deep system architecture experience. Completing the trio is Ehud Shamir, co-founder of SentinelOne, known for pioneering advanced endpoint protection. Their combined expertise focuses on solving complex data security challenges in highly regulated environments.

A Cloud-Free Security Paradigm

Unlike conventional cloud-first solutions, Cylake operates entirely within the customer’s own infrastructure. All telemetry — collected from networks, endpoints, cloud workloads, and existing security tools — is processed locally, with no reliance on public cloud services.

By building a unified data layer on-premise, Cylake runs proprietary machine learning models directly within the client’s environment, enabling real-time threat detection, behavioral analytics, and automated response — all without transferring sensitive data outside the organization.

Intelligent, Agent-Driven Security Architecture

  • AI-Native Foundation: Machine intelligence is embedded at every layer of the platform
  • Distributed Agents: Lightweight, autonomous agents collect and analyze data across hybrid environments
  • Context-Aware Insights: Combines multi-source data to create dynamic threat intelligence
  • Data Sovereignty Guaranteed: Ensures full control and compliance for sensitive operations

As Asheem Chandna of Greylock noted, 'The future of cybersecurity will be powered by intelligent agents that understand context, predict risks, and act autonomously.'

Product Roadmap and Strategic Development

Cylake is currently in a collaborative development phase, working closely with select design partners. The full platform is expected to launch in early 2027, offering enterprises a secure, intelligent, and fully autonomous defense system that reimagines the boundaries of data protection.
