Iran Tightens Grip on Strait of Hormuz

According to a report by Iran's Fars News Agency on the 3rd, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, Mohammad Akbarzadeh, announced that the Strait of Hormuz is now fully under Iran's naval control.

Tankers Hit Amid Warnings

Akbarzadeh noted that despite repeated warnings from the Revolutionary Guard about the strait being in a war zone, over a dozen tankers ignored the alerts and were struck, leading to their destruction in fires.

Shipping Ban Now in Force

He emphasized that since Iran's announcement of a no-sail order, tankers, cargo ships, and fishing vessels have been unable to pass through the strategic waterway, escalating regional tensions.
