Substantial Progress in KelpDAO Asset Recovery
Since initiating coordinated efforts in mid-April, KelpDAO, in collaboration with Aave and a broad network of ecosystem partners, has been working diligently to recover assets for affected rsETH holders. The project has now released a detailed update on current achievements and the roadmap ahead.
Ecosystem Mobilizes with Support Pledges
The recovery initiative has garnered active support from several key protocols within the Ethereum ecosystem. A number of prominent projects, including ether.fi, Ethena, and Lido, have publicly committed to providing assistance within their respective capacities. Further details and announcements regarding these collaborations are expected in the coming weeks.
Deficit Reduced by Over 45%
The initial shortfall from the incident was approximately 163,200 ETH. Recent efforts have yielded significant results:
- KelpDAO has successfully recovered 40,300 rsETH, equivalent to roughly 43,000 ETH.
- An additional guarantee of 30,700 ETH has been secured from the Arbitrum Security Council.
Combining these recoveries, the total outstanding deficit has now been reduced to an estimated 89,500 ETH, representing a reduction of more than 45% from the starting figure.
Ongoing Commitments and Negotiations
For the remaining deficit, public commitments totaling around 43,500 ETH have been made by projects including Mantle, Stani, and EtherFi. The KelpDAO team is currently engaged in detailed discussions with relevant parties to finalize the specific funding arrangements and timelines for these pledges.
The team reaffirmed that protecting the interests of rsETH holders remains the absolute priority in all ongoing work. KelpDAO has committed to providing continuous, transparent updates on further support pledges and the overall progress of the recovery operation.
