LayerZero Sets Date for Core Infrastructure Launch, Paving Way for Open Markets

In a major development for the cross-chain ecosystem, LayerZero has officially announced the launch timeline for its foundational infrastructure. The mainnet for its Layer1 blockchain, Zero, along with the lzATLAS trading engine, is scheduled to go live on November 30.

lzATLAS: The Flagship Application on Zero

lzATLAS is designed to be the first major application deployed on the Zero blockchain. Its rollout will commence with ‘Open ATLAS,’ an initial phase focused on open market access. At launch, the engine is expected to support more than ten trading venues, handling core transaction and settlement processes.

The plan is to onboard additional venues before the end of the year, rapidly expanding the network's reach and liquidity.

Strategic Focus: Open Markets and Institutional Adoption

LayerZero indicates that the initial phase of the Zero mainnet will concentrate on fostering open market activity. However, the vision extends further.

Institutional participants are already testing lzATLAS in large-scale market environments, including scenarios analogous to traditional equity markets. Currently, various trading venues are engaged in a two-pronged integration effort:

  • Trading Infrastructure Integration: Connecting their systems to the lzATLAS protocol layer.
  • Process Validation: Testing end-to-end order execution and settlement to ensure reliability and performance.

These moves signal LayerZero's ambition to position Zero and lzATLAS as next-generation financial infrastructure capable of bridging decentralized and traditional finance.
