Mask Network Fully Assumes Control of Lens Protocol
Recently, Mask Network officially announced the full takeover of the social chain project Lens Protocol, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the protocol. Originally launched in 2022 by AAVE founder Stani Kulechov, Lens Protocol was once dubbed the 'Twitter of Ethereum' and has supported over 110,000 social media profiles and hundreds of decentralized applications after a year on Polygon.
Focusing on Truly Useful Social Products
Mask Network emphasized that its future efforts will shift from developing more protocols to creating products that users genuinely want to use, while also building a thriving community and shared culture. This strategic pivot reflects a move from foundational protocol development to user experience and real-world application.
Driving the Development of Decentralized Social Ecosystems
Prior to this, Mask Network also acquired the second-largest server of Mastodon, further showcasing its commitment to advancing decentralized social networks. The takeover of Lens Protocol solidifies its position as a leader in the emerging Web3 social space.
