MilkyWay L1 Mainnet Shutdown: Secure Asset Repatriation Completed

In a significant development announced on March 26th, the MilkyWay project has formally commenced the process of sunsetting its Layer 1 (L1) mainnet. Prior to the network closure, the engineering team executed a final on-chain upgrade. The primary objective of this operation was the secure and complete migration of all user-held assets from the MilkyWay chain back to their respective native blockchain networks of origin.

Asset Migration Details and User Guidance

The official communication confirms that users who previously held assets on the MilkyWay platform should now be able to view and access those assets on the corresponding original blockchain networks, such as Ethereum or Celestia. For instance, TIA tokens that were initially bridged from the Celestia network to MilkyWay have now been automatically returned to the user's wallet on the Celestia network.

For users who do not see their assets reappear, the project team has outlined the following steps:

  • Submit the relevant wallet address through official support channels for technical review.
  • Leave a detailed comment describing the issue directly on the official announcement post.

The team has committed to providing further assistance based on user reports to ensure a smooth return of all assets.
