On-Chain Financial Brokerage Network Raises $8M to Expand Product Suite

An on-chain financial brokerage network has successfully closed a $5 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by dao5, with participation from Babylon and Astrarizon. This follows a previously secured $3 million seed round co-led by Hack VC and Magnus Capital, bringing the network's total funding to date to $8 million.

Strategic Allocation of New Capital

The freshly acquired capital is earmarked for several strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the network's ecosystem and user offerings.

  • Launch of Cross-Venue Margin Accounts: Introducing Spice Edge, a unified margin account designed to streamline collateral management and leverage across multiple trading venues.
  • Ecosystem Token Issuance: The network plans to launch its native token, SPICE, to facilitate incentives, governance, and fee reductions within the ecosystem.
  • Initial Liquidity Provision: Funding will be used to bootstrap liquidity for core network products, ensuring smooth operation and a better user experience from the outset.

Technical Foundation and Core Products

The network is built on a dedicated Layer 1 settlement layer powered by Celestia, which provides a high-throughput, low-cost foundation for on-chain financial transactions.

Its expanding product portfolio includes:

  • Cross-Chain One-Click Interaction Protocol (SpiceFlow): This protocol simplifies multi-chain operations by enabling asset transfers and interactions across different blockchains through a single action.
  • Tokenized Stock Consumer Application (SpiceStocks, in development): This initiative focuses on bringing tokenized representations of traditional equities onto the blockchain, aiming to offer compliant and accessible stock trading for mainstream users.

With the new funding secured, the network is poised to roll out these features in the coming months, significantly broadening its scope within the on-chain financial brokerage landscape.
