Ripple Prime Broadens Institutional Suite with Real-World Asset Perpetuals

Ripple Prime, the prime brokerage arm of Ripple, is expanding its institutional product lineup beyond cryptocurrency derivatives. According to a Bloomberg report, the division is now offering perpetual futures contracts tied to real-world assets (RWAs), providing professional investors with exposure to traditional markets like equities, commodities, and funds through a digital asset infrastructure.

Extensive Market Coverage Across Asset Classes

The new offering encompasses a wide range of over 100 reference markets, creating a diversified portfolio of perpetual contracts:

  • Equities: Includes contracts referencing select global stocks and stock indices.
  • Funds: Covers major Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs).
  • Commodities: Offers derivatives on key commodities such as gold and oil.

This expansion allows institutional clients to manage positions in both crypto and traditional asset derivatives from a single access point, potentially streamlining operations and improving capital utilization.

Delivered via Partnership, Aligning with Strategic Vision

The RWA perpetual contracts are being delivered through the Trade.xyz platform on the Hyperliquid blockchain, following a partnership-driven model Ripple Prime has employed previously. This approach leverages established third-party trading infrastructure to accelerate product deployment and scaling.

The move builds directly on Ripple Prime’s existing offering of cryptocurrency perpetuals. Adding RWAs represents a strategic evolution towards becoming a comprehensive hub for institutional trading services, responding to client demand for diversified, cross-asset investment vehicles.

Industry observers note that this initiative diversifies Ripple Prime’s revenue streams while strengthening its position in the institutional digital asset services sector. By bridging traditional finance with the efficiency of blockchain execution, it opens another gateway for institutional participation in the growing on-chain finance ecosystem.
