RWA Derivatives Emerge as Dominant Force

Hyperliquid's ecosystem is undergoing a fundamental shift, as detailed in its latest quarterly report. Perpetual contracts tied to real-world assets are no longer a niche offering but have become a primary driver of activity. After surpassing 20% of total volume last quarter, RWA-related trading now commands a substantial 32.2% share this quarter, accounting for nearly one-third of all transactions on the platform.

Institutional Adoption and Ecosystem Growth

This surge is supported by growing institutional interest. The report highlights that three HYPE-focused exchange-traded funds are now live, providing a regulated gateway for traditional investors. Concurrently, asset managers within the ecosystem are steadily accumulating HYPE reserves. Combined funds and related treasuries currently hold approximately 7.7% of the token's total supply.

Token and Protocol Metrics Defy Broader Market Trend

While the broader crypto market faced headwinds, HYPE's performance stood out. The token's price appreciated by 79% during the quarter, reaching an all-time high of $76.90. This growth occurred against a backdrop where Bitcoin's price declined by 14% over the same period.

Revenue Rebound and Value Distribution

The protocol's financials demonstrated notable resilience. Following a low in April, monthly protocol revenue recovered strongly, hitting $169 million by the end of Q2. Cumulative protocol revenue has now crossed the $1 billion threshold. A significant portion of this value—$141 million—has been returned to HYPE holders via token buybacks.

The quarter's data paints a picture of an ecosystem successfully bridging demand for traditional asset exposure with on-chain derivatives, while strengthening its core token economics through consistent value redistribution.
