On February 24, 2026, Salvador announced the launch of the "Bitcoin Diploma 2" educational initiative, marking a milestone in integrating Bitcoin knowledge into the national education system. The program is led by the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC).

Curriculum Upgrade Covers Multiple Core Topics

The updated teaching materials have been rolled out across public schools nationwide. The curriculum includes topics such as the Lightning Network, monetary history, central banking, and free-market economics. Bitcoin-related concepts will be introduced in sociology and math classes, using diagrams and real-world examples to explain ideas like hash rate, difficulty adjustment, and UTXO models.

Three Weekly Hours Combined with AI Teaching Tools

According to the education department, students will receive approximately three hours of related coursework weekly. In parallel, the initiative includes deploying AI-powered teaching tools in around 5,000 schools to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
