Crypto Investment Loss Leads to Alleged Poisoning Incident

A 39-year-old South Korean man has been charged after allegedly attempting to poison his business partner following the failure of a cryptocurrency investment worth approximately $810,000. The two individuals started a Bitcoin investment venture together in 2022 and co-founded a company.

Details of the Incident

According to prosecutors, internal conflict arose after the suspect misused company funds. In a drastic move to gain full control, he reportedly purchased about $200 worth of the banned pesticide methamidophos online last October and laced an iced latte with it at a Seoul cafe.

Victim's Condition and Charges Against the Suspect

The victim collapsed after consuming the drink and required life support for three days before regaining consciousness. The suspect now faces charges of attempted murder and violating pesticide control laws. The case is set for trial on March 10.
