So far this year, companies in the region have secured $680 million across 25 funding rounds. This figure not only surpasses the total $319 million raised in all of 2025 but also signals a cautious recovery, even as it remains well below the sector's 2022 peak of $2.2 billion.
The Great Consolidation: Big Bets on Proven Players
The most striking trend is the extreme concentration of capital. A single, massive $400 million round accounts for nearly 60% of the year's total funding. This underscores a market where investors are prioritizing later-stage, de-risked companies with established traction over early-stage experimentation. The era of "spray and pray" investing appears to be over.
Sector Spotlight: Crypto Financial Services in High Demand
Among all verticals, crypto financial services have emerged as the standout performer. Over the past 12 months, this sector raised $498 million across 19 deals, marking a 48.4% year-over-year increase. This surge highlights strong demand for the regulated infrastructure—including trading, custody, and payments—necessary for broader institutional and mainstream adoption.
Geography & Stage: Singapore Dominates, Early-Stage Gap Widens
Geographically, Singapore continues to be the undisputed hub, capturing a staggering 82.5% of all cumulative funding in the region. Its clear regulatory stance and mature financial ecosystem make it a magnet for blockchain ventures.
Yet, the path for early-stage founders remains arduous. Of the 3,957 companies tracked by Tracxn, only 167 have progressed to Series A or beyond. This indicates that while overall capital is flowing, the leap from seed to significant scale is becoming increasingly difficult for the majority of startups.
