Substantial Cash Buffer Supports Dividend Strategy

Digital asset and business software company Strategy currently holds a significant cash position of $4.75 billion. CEO Phong Le stated that this liquidity is sufficient to cover approximately 2.7 years of dividend payments, underscoring the firm's strong financial footing.

Evolving Beyond a Bitcoin Holder

A key part of Strategy's narrative is its substantial Bitcoin treasury, which now stands at roughly 840,000 BTC. This represents about 4% of Bitcoin's eventual total supply of 21 million coins. Phong Le framed this not just as an investment, but as a foundation for a broader vision. “We are evolving from a simple buy-and-hold approach into a digital financial platform built around Bitcoin,” he explained.

The company has introduced financial products like preferred shares to cater to investors seeking Bitcoin-linked returns with reduced exposure to the asset's inherent volatility.

Dual Business Lines Show Growth

While its digital asset initiatives draw attention, Strategy's legacy software business continues to be a reliable contributor. The segment posted steady growth:

  • Total software revenue increased 7% year-over-year.
  • Cloud subscription revenue surged by 54%.

These operations are supported by a workforce of around 1,500 professionals spanning fields such as law, finance, AI engineering, development, and marketing.

Phong Le noted that the substantial cash reserve directly addresses the liquidity concerns of both institutional investors and those allocating short-term capital to the company's products. It provides a crucial safety net as the company executes its strategic pivot.
