Trump's Tariff Policy Faces Major Legal Setback

The recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling deemed most of the tariffs imposed during Trump's administration unlawful. This decision has triggered a wave of lawsuits, with over 2000 cases already filed at the Court of International Trade.

FedEx filed the initial lawsuit on Monday, followed closely by subsidiaries of L'Oreal, On Holding, and Skechers USA. These companies, among others, are seeking refunds on import tariffs they previously paid under the contested policy.

Legal Challenges Continue to Multiply

According to analysis from Bloomberg, the latest filings have pushed the total number of tariff-related lawsuits past the 2000 mark. Although this figure appears significant, it still represents only a fraction of the hundreds of thousands of importers affected.

  • FedEx among first to file a lawsuit
  • Major global companies follow seeking tariff refunds
  • Trade court faces growing legal pressure

The Court of International Trade is under increasing strain as more cases are filed. Yet, the current count remains a small portion of the total importers who paid tariffs under the now-overturned policy.
