Service Interruption for Filecoin Network Upgrade

Leading South Korean digital asset exchange Upbit has issued an operational notice regarding an upcoming protocol upgrade on the Filecoin network. To safeguard user assets and ensure seamless integration with the upgraded network, the platform will implement a temporary suspension of certain services.

Schedule and Scope of Suspension

The temporary service halt is scheduled as follows:

  • Effective Time: 18:00 KST, May 27, 2026.
  • Services Suspended: All blockchain-based deposit and withdrawal functions for Filecoin (FIL).
  • Unaffected Services: All FIL trading pairs will remain fully operational on the exchange.

The suspension is limited to on-chain transactions. Internal account transfers and trading activities for FIL will not be impacted.

Key Points During the Upgrade Period

Users should be aware of the following during the maintenance window:

  • FIL deposits initiated during this period may experience significant delays or fail to be credited automatically.
  • While Upbit's channels are closed, transactions may still occur on the network itself. These will be reviewed and processed by the platform after maintenance concludes.
  • Ancillary functions, including new withdrawal address registration and deposit address retrieval, will also be temporarily disabled.

Service Resumption and User Guidance

Upbit has not announced a predetermined time for resuming services. The platform's technical team will conduct thorough stability checks and node synchronization verification after the Filecoin network upgrade is complete. Deposit and withdrawal services will only be reinstated once the network is confirmed to be operating stably and securely.

The official restoration time will be communicated through Upbit's official announcement channels. Users planning significant FIL transfers are advised to monitor Upbit's announcements closely and schedule their transactions accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
