Key US Economic Data Release Dates Shift for 2025
The US Bureau of Economic Analysis has announced revised release dates for several major economic indicators in 2025, drawing attention from financial markets. The preliminary estimate of fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 GDP will now be released on February 20 at 8:30 AM Eastern Time, corresponding to 9:30 PM Beijing time on February 21.
Personal Income and Spending Reports Aligned
The December 2025 personal income and outlays report will be published simultaneously. Earlier data for October and November was released on January 22. However, a gap in the October CPI data required an adjustment in methodology.
Innovative Approach to Data Continuity
- Missing October CPI values were estimated using the average of September and November figures
- This ensures accurate calculation of the PCE price index, the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge
- The method maintains consistency in economic trend analysis
Meanwhile, the final GDP estimate and January’s income report, originally slated for February 26, will be rescheduled. Officials cited insufficient source data availability by the original deadline, highlighting the priority placed on data integrity over rigid timelines.
