Widespread Damage to Iranian Educational Infrastructure Reported

Authorities in Iran have released concerning figures regarding the impact of recent military engagements on the country's education sector. Operations spanning multiple regions have left a significant number of learning facilities in need of repair or complete reconstruction.

Breakdown of the Damage

The data, provided by the head of Iran's National Organization for School Development and Equipment, outlines the scale of destruction:

  • Total Destruction: 11 schools were completely leveled.
  • Partial or Full Damage: A total of 1,489 schools and educational units sustained harm. This figure comprises 1,214 standard schools and 275 auxiliary educational spaces, including sports halls, administrative offices, cultural centers, and camp facilities.
The affected sites are distributed across 153 areas in 22 different provinces.

Ongoing Recovery and Rehabilitation

In response to the crisis, recovery operations are actively underway. Officials confirm that 969 of the damaged units have already been repaired and reintegrated into the educational system, allowing students to return to classrooms. Efforts continue to address the remaining facilities and restore full educational capacity across the nation.
