US Markets Tumble with Tech Sector Leading the Decline
The three major US indexes closed sharply lower, signaling a cooling in market sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.34%, the Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.03%, and the S&P 500 declined by 1.57%.
Tech giants were among the hardest hit, with Apple shares plunging 5%, Broadcom falling over 3%, and Amazon, Meta, and Tesla all dropping more than 2%.
Precious Metals and Crypto-Related Stocks Plunge
The precious metals sector also suffered, with US Gold Corp and Pan American Silver both tumbling over 8%. Crypto-linked companies faced heavy selling pressure, as Robinhood fell over 8%, Coinbase declined over 7%, and Circle lost more than 2% in value.
