Vechain Network Upgrade and Hard Fork Schedule Announced

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has officially confirmed its support for the upcoming Vechain (VET) network upgrade and hard fork. This significant technical update marks a pivotal moment for the underlying infrastructure of the Vechain ecosystem.

Service Suspension and Upgrade Details

Binance will temporarily suspend all deposit and withdrawal services for VET tokens starting at 18:15 Beijing Time on September 16, 2026. This precautionary measure is standard practice to ensure user asset safety and a smooth network transition during the upgrade.

The hard fork, initiated by the Vechain development team, is scheduled to occur at block height 25,902,540. Based on current network performance, this is estimated to happen around 19:15 Beijing Time on the same day.

User Impact and Recommended Actions

The suspension affects only deposits and withdrawals. Trading of VET on the Binance platform is typically unaffected. However, we recommend users take the following steps:

  • Complete any planned VET deposits or withdrawals well before the upgrade begins.
  • Monitor Binance's official announcements for the latest information on service resumption.
  • No action is required for assets held in exchange wallets or private wallets, as the network upgrade will proceed automatically.

A hard fork represents a major change to a blockchain's consensus rules, often introducing new features, enhancing performance, or addressing critical issues. This upgrade is expected to strengthen the foundation for Vechain's enterprise applications and IoT ecosystem.
