Shielded Labs, the team behind Zcash, has received a donation from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin to support the development of Crosslink. This initiative aims to enhance the security and efficiency of the Zcash network while maintaining its core focus on privacy.

How Crosslink Upgrades the Consensus

Crosslink introduces a parallel finality layer to Zcash’s existing Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus, effectively preventing chain reorganizations and rollback attacks. This ensures transaction immutability and significantly lowers the risk of double-spending.
