Zhipu AI Nears 7 Million API Users, Scales Domestic Compute Infrastructure

Recent industry figures indicate a surge in adoption for Zhipu AI's MaaS open platform. The total number of registered API users is approaching 7 million, representing an increase of approximately 2 million since early July. Within this user base, enterprise clients form a substantial segment, numbering 23,000 companies.

Product-Led Growth and Robust Commercial Performance

This growth is fueled by competitive core products. ZCode, its code generation tool for developers, surpassed 1 million users within just one month of launch. The product, positioning itself against leading alternatives, has gained rapid traction in the developer community.

On the commercial front, Zhipu AI's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) has grown roughly fifteen-fold this year. Notably, this growth momentum appears sustained even following the recent release of several high-profile competing models in the market.

Deployment of 50,000+ Domestic Chips to Power Inference

To handle the soaring inference demands from its expanding user base, Zhipu has made significant investments in computing infrastructure. The company has established a domestic AI computing cluster with a capacity of 1 Gigawatt. Over 50,000 domestically-produced AI accelerator chips are now operational, specifically aimed at alleviating pressure on inference workloads.

This infrastructure build-out not only ensures the stability and responsiveness of current services but also provides ample computational headroom for future model iterations and more complex application scenarios.

Market Movements and Service Updates

Alongside its expansion, Zhipu has adjusted some service offerings. A previously long-restricted premium coding service plan, following a recent price revision, has been reopened for purchase. This move suggests the company is refining its product portfolio and commercialization strategy to cater to diverse user needs.
