The Lone Surge: A Meme Token Defies the Cooling Trend
As the initial frenzy on Robinhood Chain subsides, one asset stands out with a dramatic rebound. The cat-themed meme token CASHCAT has skyrocketed 120% over the past week, trading around $0.087 with a 22% gain in the last 24 hours and a market cap nearing $86 million.
A Ecosystem in Transition
CASHCAT’s revival contrasts sharply with the broader ecosystem cooldown. Originating as a community-driven tribute to Robinhood’s former “cash cat” branding—described on its site as “fan fiction with a ticker”—the token captured early momentum following the chain’s mainnet launch in July.
Yet most tokens launched alongside it have since faded. The launchpad Noxa, which fueled July’s issuance wave, halted new projects on July 11 and ceased operations two days later, having generated an estimated $12 million in fees. On-chain activity reflects this shift: daily token deployments on Robinhood Chain have plummeted from a mid-July peak of roughly 35,000 to about 10,000 currently.
Selective Resilience Amid the Slowdown
This rapid cooling signals a pivot from indiscriminate issuance to a more selective phase. Notably, the defunct Noxa platform still holds approximately $137,000 worth of CASHCAT, an unsold position that grew 75% in value last week alongside the token’s rally.
Such resilience suggests that assets with strong community narratives may retain appeal even as speculative heat dissipates. Whether CASHCAT can sustain its recovery will test the chain’s capacity to foster projects beyond transient hype.
