A Historic Bond Issuance on Wall Street
Just hours after reporting better-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results, Goldman Sachs announced the issuance of $16 billion in investment-grade bonds, setting a new record for the largest single issuance of its kind on Wall Street.
Industry Trends Emerge
This bond sale also marks the largest high-grade debt offering in the U.S. in 2026, and comes amid a wave of similar deals from major Wall Street banks following their latest quarterly earnings releases. On Thursday alone, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo also launched bond offerings worth $8 billion and $5 billion, respectively.
- The deal surpasses Goldman's previous bond issuance of $12 billion in 2022
- A year earlier, Bank of America had issued $15 billion in bonds
This move highlights Goldman's continued leadership in the financial sector and reinforces its robust capital-raising capabilities even amid market volatility.
