On September 10th, OKX officially rolled out its new ‘Smart Portfolio’ feature, as per the platform's announcement. This tool is designed to allow investors to break down traditional asset silos by managing a diverse range of holdings—including cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, gold, oil, ETF indices, and stablecoins—within a single, cohesive portfolio.
Core Features: Custom Allocation & Auto-Rebalancing
The power of the Smart Portfolio lies in its flexibility and automated management. Users can set target weightings for each asset class based on their investment thesis. For instance, one might allocate 60% to major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, 20% to tokenized shares of tech companies, and the remaining 20% to gold and stablecoins for risk mitigation.
Once configured, the system acts as an automated steward. It will periodically check the portfolio—based on a user-defined schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) and a rebalancing threshold (e.g., a 5% deviation from the target allocation)—and automatically execute trades to bring the portfolio back to its target weights. This enforces a disciplined ‘buy low, sell high’ approach in response to market movements. Users also retain the option to trigger an immediate manual rebalance at any time.
Two Creation Modes: AI Suggestions & Manual Setup
To cater to both novice and experienced investors, Smart Portfolio offers two entry points:
- AI Strategy Recommendations: The platform provides pre-built portfolio templates centered around specific themes (e.g., “DeFi Growth,” “Inflation Hedge,” “Big Tech Basket”), simplifying the initial setup process.
- Manual Creation: Advanced users can build a portfolio from scratch, hand-picking assets and defining their precise allocations for a fully customized strategy.
Both modes serve the same ultimate goal: enabling unified allocation and ongoing, dynamic management across multiple asset classes without the need to juggle separate accounts or products.

Users interested in trying the Smart Portfolio can navigate within the OKX App by tapping on ‘Trade’, then ‘Strategies & Copy Trading’, where they will find the dedicated entry point. A prerequisite is to update the OKX App to version 6.188.0 or higher.
