UK Maritime Authority Raises Hormuz Strait Threat Level to “Severe” Following Series of Tanker Attacks

The UK Maritime Trade Operations office has elevated the maritime threat level for the Hormuz Strait to “severe” after three tankers were attacked in the area on July 8. UKMTO warned of increased risk of “deliberate hostile acts” and ongoing navigation interference, urging vessels to maintain extreme vigilance amid continued Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps activity.
