Voting Begins for WLFI Governance Participation Incentive Proposal

The World Liberty Financial community has initiated a vote on a significant new proposal designed to boost engagement in its governance process. Titled the "WLFI Governance Participation Incentive Plan," the proposal, if passed, is slated for implementation before October 1, 2026.

How the Incentive Mechanism Works

The proposal introduces a reward model that directly ties token commitment to governance activity. While all WLFI token holders retain their basic voting rights, those seeking additional incentives must meet two key criteria:

  • Long-term Token Lock-up: Lock unlocked WLFI tokens for a minimum of 180 days.
  • Active Governance Participation: Participate directly in at least one on-chain governance vote every 90 days during the lock-up period. Delegating votes to others does not count toward this requirement.

Participants who meet these conditions will be eligible for rewards that are dynamically calculated based on factors like the amount locked and participation frequency. This structure aims to reward community members with a long-term stake in the network who are directly involved in its direction.

Funding the Reward Pool

To ensure the program's sustainability, the proposal outlines a multi-source funding approach for the reward pool. Potential funding channels include:

  • Allocations from the project treasury.
  • A portion of fees generated from related ecosystem markets.
  • Other existing ecosystem and marketing incentive budgets.

The plan is to replenish this reward pool every two weeks, providing consistent and predictable reward distribution for participants.

Implications of the Proposal

This vote represents a community effort to refine its governance model. By using economic incentives to encourage deeper, high-quality participation, the project aims to enhance the decentralization and vitality of its decision-making processes.

Approval of this proposal would see it replace the previously approved ecosystem proposal from March 12, 2026, marking a strategic shift in governance incentives. The final outcome now rests entirely with WLFI token holders.
